Amazing glamping experience

We stayed on dec1st night with another family. The booking process was quite easy and you have to select the food package for dinner and breakfast early on and pay. No outside food allowed. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The place is very clean, with really good toilet facilities. The tent was spacious. The outside can get really cold in the night thus tents did not have AC and was powered completely from solar. Thus the site is a very sustainability oriented. The star gazing session was also quite nice where the guide explained the movements and how to distinguish planets. Kids enjoyed the onsite activities, star gazing and in general just walking around and playing. It’s a very relaxing experience where the environment is quiet and u can relax in front of a bonfire in the night. Overall highly recommend for a different experience for a staycation

Stargazing in Mleha

A beautifully designed and equipped campsite nestled in the desert mountains of Sharjah. The tents are comfortable and well equipped, with beautiful evening lighting, The food was delicious and the staff among the kindest we’ve met anywhere. Highly recommended! Don’t miss the stargazing experience with the expert astronomer Prabu!

Very cool experience.

Nothing can prepare you for this. We had the luck to be the only guests on the camp and it was great! We booked the buggy drive, which was the best experience for us and the dinner which was fabulous and really tasty. Stargazing was so cool! The camp is clean, and nicely decorated, the bonfire made it perfect. It is not completely silent like we used to have it in Oman on our first desert night, since there is a generator constantly making noise. This was a pity. The desert deserves to be enjoyed in silence. Sunset viewing was cool, we also visited the fossil hill. My airbed was broken and I slept on the hard floor, this should not have happened at all. When the staff prepares the tents, they should test, if the airbeds are ok! This was very annoying. The thing that we really did not like was, that we booked the dinner for 4 adults, since our kids were 12 and 15 and it was so much food, we could not eat it at all. I don't know, if the Arabic families eat that much or even care, but for us it was so bad to see, that our food was wasted and thrown away. When booking the dinner, we could not book for kids portions other than silly kids meals, and it was not clear, that we could book less portions. The center should do something about this. it is not right, to throw perfect food into the trash. Maybe tell people better, what to expect and that it is ok to book less portions.

Awesome place with horses

Amazing place with horses We had stayed overnight near the stables. The staff at the stables,cafe and in general are amazing , so helpful. Can’t thank them enough for taking care of us. The experience at this place Feelquest Retreat was one a kind - awesome to spend time with horses in their natural Environment .

Soothing private camping experience in outskirts of sharajah

We got a nice private camp with good view, camp is outside of sharajah. Stargazing was perfect, dinner and breakfast was nice. Perfect sunrise and safari ride in the morning. Visited Mheila archaeological site and they have nice restaurant there.

Geminids Experience. December 14th

An experience I’d never forget! It was amazing by all means. The event organizers were so professional which made it perfect. We enjoyed it right from the beginning that we upgraded from standard to overnight and even that was done smoothly. A special thanks to Jackie for being such a great organizer, she was always there for us from the time we booked till the end of the event. I’d like to also extend my appreciation to the buffet chef for the delicious food provided. I’d definitely encourage everyone to go for it!

Perseids meteor

Happened to attend the Perseids meteor shower on 12th August 2023 with Mleiha Archaeological centre, Sharjah. It was an wonderful experience with impressive arrangements for watching the meteors, car parking and wash rooms. The dinner was commendable and light. The lecture about stars, galaxies, universe and constellations was fantastic... Appreciate the efforts taken by the team!! Special mention to the educators Mr. Nirmal and Mr. Prabhu for their excellent presentation and quiz. Planets and star show through telescopes were well explained by Ushani and Jhen... A soothing relaxing music added special effects to the show!! Finally, very much excited to watch those meteors flying around.. Thankyou guys! Overall, a delightful experience! Keep up the good work!!

Exclusive overnight Camping

We Enjoyed an exclusive overnight camping as a family beginning of January ,great experience from the time we arrived until we left ,everyone was courteous ,friendly ,nothing was much to ask. The setting ,the lights ,the bonfire will transfer you to another place . We also ordered dinner for 4 ,lots of food the feeds many more,unlimited water ,soft drinks as well as tea ,karak and coffee ,breakfast in a box the next day after we went to watch the sunrise . The only thing that I would recommend is improving the breakfast . Leaving you with the great photos ,highly recommended .

Camping trip with girlfriends a must do!

Jackie organized our overnight camping trip so well and made sure that we were looked after seamlessly. Omar our guide was well informed and took us to see the fossils and early morning sunrise. Samir was polite and drove us early morning.

Relaxing and soul-soothing experience

Sameer, Umar and Jackie welcomed me to the site and catered to any need, just as much as they gave me private space to fully enjoy the night with the stars. Good place if you seek to get away from touristy Dubai. I'd recommend the site's transport option as no Uber/Careem can be ordered from there.

A serene desert camping experience.

This was our 2nd visit to the Meliha archaeological centre. We booked the 31st December, overnight non-exclusive camping experience through Jacqueline +971 50 968 1749. The booking procedure was easy though it was a last minute plan. Though it was non - exclusive we had a very private kind of camping experience, everything was meticulously arranged. The dinner spread was good with a lot of vegetarian options so my friends were happy too. They had arranged good live entertainment activities which kept us engaged and entertained. Tents were neat, clean and comfortable. A special mention to their clean toilets because at most of the camping places this is a compromised thing. We were lucky to win the voucher for sunset lounge with dinner so definitely we are coming back for more with more friends. A special thanks to all the staff at Meliha, they work really hard to provide us this wonderful experience , kudos and keep up the good work.

Outdistance experience

One of the best places to visit in UAE specially during time, amazing experience, the place is very clean and safe, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the BBQ is delicious. I watched the World Cup match under the stars and moon light. to wake up between the mountains and see the sunrise was like a dream to me. Big thanks to Ms. Nada for making this dream come true, very professional. Also I appreciate Sahid who was there around us all the time to guide and support , super kind, very helpful and patience . Best part was FIFA lounge, thanks to Afsar for all the hospitality there, super organized . Finally, I promise you to come back soon as I fall in love with this place :)

Amazing place and even better staff!

We had an amazing overnight stay, where we had activities planned, dinner, star gazing and just hanging out in the desert. The place is gorgeous and the staff is really amazing. Jackie is extremely helpful in planning things out to make your stay extra special. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful camping experience without the stress of having to plan it yourself.

The campsite was in a stunning and peaceful location. The children were able to enjoy the camel rides and toy archery before it got dark. There was almost too much food for dinner, but it was tasty. We were able to view the craters on the moon's surface through the telescope during the star gazing. After a limited amount of sleep overnight we got up early for the sunrise drive in the desert. We watched the sun rise and then stayed longer for the children to play in the dunes rather than doing the dune bashing. The staff were helpful and accommodating and we appreciated the luxury of having the toilet facilities on site.

Best part of my UAE trip!

Also a pick up service from Dubai and drop off in Dubai was organized. All was just perfectly organized and everyone of the Mleiha team is welcoming, kind and so knowledgeable about the area, history, nature, the stars! I got a vegan dinner option wich included seven dishes only for me plus dessert. It was a feast! At the bonfire I met fellow tourists including local Emirati and it was amazing to chat and learn more about the UAE and their culture. The dessert drives are stunning. Amazing landscapes and it’s an exciting adventure to drive off-road through the dessert. My driver Murad was great and a save driver. He took me to the fossil rock and some other breathtaking spots. The star glazing was another amazing part. I did learn so much this evening. The overnight camp is at a beautiful site at the Such amazing experience! I will certainly come back. Also, the site has stables with beautiful horses for horse riding and other animals that can be watched. The whole site is very nature-conscious and one gets a very individual and amazing experience. The hospitality was outstanding and everyone working at Mleiha is an expert sharing their knowledge. As a female solo traveler I always felt safe, welcomed and enjoyed every minute. I want to thank especially Jacqui who walked me through every step of the booking and got me my personal perfect programme. Also she and her colleagues checked in with me several times how my experience is. I will definitely come back and can highly recommend Mleiha!

Mind blowing Mleiha

Hi Jacqui, we got back after a great trip. The star gazing was superb. Great guy Prabhu the Astronomer is … super professional and expertise. Nihar and Omar did a great job with the buggy which was quite an exciting experience. Lukas took great care at dinner, breakfast and the sunrise drive. Amazing birthday memories & outdoor experience!!

Having visited Mleiha Archaeological Centre before, I knew the amazing service, knowledgable and cordial staff as well as the fantastic product was a given…but the Mleiha team surpassed my expectations once again We started our night off with a wonderful sunset drive (additional package) to visit the renowned Camel Rock and Fossil Rock! Multiple photo ops to capture the breathtaking sunset behind the dunes before making our way over to the campsite. The campsite was fully equipped with air conditioned toilets/showers, hand wash stations, plenty of lounge spaces and all the small details that make a guest’s stay comfortable I visited to celebrate a birthday and the team outdid themselves with decor around the area to make it extra special! We were welcomed with dates, karak tea and gahwa (Arabic coffee) After settling in, a staff member directed us to the stargazing area and walked us through sky conditions, objects/planets we can expect to see. We requested for Dinner as an add-on and chose Menu 2&3. The portion sizes are very generous and the food was fantastic - would highly recommend the grilled prawns & kebabs :) Special thanks to all the guides- from the warm welcome at the center to the dune buggy ride leading to check-out. It was such a lovely birthday celebration & can’t wait to come back with a bigger group! Tips for visitors: bring along pillows as they do not provide any at the moment

Overnight yoga experience

I did the overnight camping and yoga experience last weekend. It was one of the best things I have done while in the UAE!! Everything was lovely. Making arrangements over whatsapp was easy. The yoga was 2 real sessions with a great teacher. Dinner and breakfasts where feasts with very good vegetarian food. Star gazing was an added treat. The whole area is beautiful!!!! Plus, we got a ride out to our tents and beds where already set up for us. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Im not super outdoorsy and I was thrilled that there was a real clean restroom and shower near the campsite. The next morning we added dune bashing and a hike to the valley of the caves. Completely worth it and I will do it again when I have friends come and visit. You should book this!

Authentic experience

We did the overnight camping trip last weekend, and this is one of the best short trips in UAE we have done. Mleiha Archaeology museum is a hidden treasure. It is small in area, but all the exhibits are well displayed with clear write ups. The highlight of the trip was the stargazing. The expert team consisting of Prabhu, Nirmal and Anurag are very knowledgeable and are passionate story-tellers. The sleeping tent is small but well provided for. Suggest taking pillows along. The sunrise (‘sun sight’ is the right expression as suggested by the stargazing team) trip is really awesome. And a special thanks to Shahid who took care of us well. Overall very authentic experience! Highly recommended!

Highly Recommended Desert Retreat

My husband took me to this desert retreat for overnight camping. On reaching this place, I was amazed by the spectacular architecture of the archeological museum. After a while I was even more mesmerized on reaching our camp!! it was breathtaking! the staff was very friendly and the whole overnight trip was very organized. bathrooms were soooo clean!! food was amazing! our guy gave us unlimited logs for bonfire. Unlike many places, where there is hesitation, these guys took care of us open heartedly!! We were given a chance to learn about astronomy and did stargazing. we were given a chance to educate ourselves in astronomy, fossils, history and importance of this place. Its just someplace that I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to couples, friends, family in winters!!!!!! its truly a hidden gem that very few people know about. its a must visit for tourists and residents of UAE!!

Excellent Trip!

My amazing friends treated me for the most spectacular trip ever for my 50th birthday at Mleiha camp site. It was so well organised by Jackie with extra special touches and attention to detail...making our stay exhilarating in every which way. A highlight was the star gazing under the expertise of Prabu & the delicious food we got to enjoy under the beautiful starry night sky. Highly recommended....

AMAZING Experience; highly recommend!!!

I went for over night camping with my friends and from beginning ( booking process) to the end our trip was just amazing.... I would highly recommend that you go here as it’s a great experience. The lady to make the bookings through at Mleiha and whom I must say made this entire process for us the best ever is Jaquiline, she’s the most wonderful lady and gave us the best possible customer service. Other then her I also want to make a special mention of Mr. Omar & Mr.Prabu. These are the people that made it a five star experience. The food ( we chose menu 3) was more then enough & tasted great. There was ample water tea etc. The bathroom was very clean & all SOP’s were followed. As it was all outdoors we felt very safe but even then everyone had their masks on at all times & social distancing was always there, they were all Amazing!!! Thank you Jaquiline, Omar, Prabu and everyone at Mleiha!! We can’t wait to come back again!!

Great overnight experience for all ages!

Had some guests visiting from out of town and wanted to give them an overnight desert experience, and this didn't disappoint. The camp site was fully set up when we arrived in the evening with separate sleeping tents, an outdoor majlis area as well as a common majlis tent. BBQ dinner and breakfast was served, and the morning sunrise experience in al Fayaa mountain was memorable. At night, they had a telescope set up with guides to point out different constellations and deep space objects A side note, if you're in to geology, there are Ophiolite out crops on al Faya which was super cool for me! The morning after you go to Fossil Rock which has plenty of marine fossils like corals and bivalves. We also added on a dune buggy dune drive in the morning which was really fun. The visitor center itself has a short bit very informative walk through about the archeological and geologic history of the area. Special thanks to our guide Omer who was professional, accommodating and very friendly. Overall, this is an excellent desert experience for people of all ages! One of my guests was in his 70s and was comfortable and loved it. I'd recommend this over the routine desert dinner camps that most companies do.

Every part of the trip was excellent and really well managed. What struck me the most was that the staff were extremely knowledgable of the area, ranging from the evening astronomy session, to the sunrise fossil rocks tour and finally the off roading experience!

Spectacular!!!

I went for a yoga retreat with YogaHouse and Mleiha Archaeological centre organized in December 2020. First of all, it is a beautiful place! Being in the desert with red sand, fossil rock, rocky mountains is just an amazing experience. My favorite part was the moon watch with the telescopes where our astronomist Prabhakaran showed us a bright and beautiful moon and mars, it was fascinating and phenomenon!! He’s so knowledgeable and passionate that he can answer to our wonders and questions so nicely. He was also there for sunrise watch where they took us up in the mountains, he gave us the biological information showing us the sand, rock and so on. Also all other staff was very kind and everything was organized perfectly. Any request we had, they accommodated and made us feel so comfortable. Having said that, I went back to their another event for Geminids metor shower watch after a few weeks. The setup was so nice and beautiful, must be the best one in the Middle East, let alone UAE! They shared so much knowledge in the space, astronomy 🪐 and also had some fun quiz time with prize! All the kids seemed to rock it! They seemed to be so inspired and excited during this event too! We were laying down in this nice carpet with cushions they prepared for us, and did star gazing for many hours. We watched many shooting stars and even a fireball!! This was such a spectacular and memorable experience! Thank you so much for this!!!

Amazing overnight camp experience

This was one of the best experiences we've ever had. The staff were professional and friendly. Special thanks to Mr. Aneesh who ensured the camping guests were comfortable and everything was n place. The premises were really clean n well sanitised. All Covid 19 precautions were maintained. The museum tour was so informative esp for the kids. The exhibits were well displayed n explained. The stargazing was really out of the world. Anurag was very knowledgeable and so very patient answering all our questions. We got to see the moon, north star, pleiades, etc.. In the morning after a small trek to see the fossil rock, we saw the sun rise too. The whole overnight camp was set up really well. The kids loved the experience and it's something we'll treasure. It surely has been n will continue to be recommended to all. Great work to all the staff!!

Amazing!!!!

This is the second experience with Mleiha Archeological Center. The first one was just dinner and stargazing and it was really good. Now we wanted to try the overnight and we had an amazing experience! We spent a wonderful time in a desert. Staff is real added value, everything was well organised. Eager to repeat as soon as possible.

An amazing night under the stars

It was the first night away from home after months of lockdown due to Covid 19. It was the best adventure for us and the kids, 7 & 12 years old. We had an amazing time visiting Mlaiha's archeological center, with the overnight stay at the camp. It included dinner and breakfast, which were OK with unlimited supply of soft drinks, tea, coffee, karak. but the highlight of the trip was the service of the team at the camp, Anurag's explanation's of the stars and planets to the kids during star gazing with an excellent telescope, in addition to the explanation of the archeological history of the area during the next day's visit to the Fossil Rock and the wildlife in the region. Make sure to ask Anurag to show you the amazing pictures of the birds he took. Omar was also very kind and accompanied our entire tour from the minute we arrived until we left. The kids loved his drive in the desert, on the way back after seeing a fascinating sunrise. All in all an amazing night under the stars around the bonfire, a very different experience for the kids, who never even asked for any electronics!! Everything was arranged, the sleeping tent, clean toilets, the staff takes care of setting up everything from cleaning after every meal, setting the kids safe archery setup the kids enjoyed. Just remember to take your pillows and extra cover if the weather could be cold, and a light cardigan to sit comfortably. I stayed up almost all night amazed by the stars! Very much recommended, enjoy!

Amazing!

From the booking request to the end, a 100% perfect experience. The team went the extra mile to make sure everything is perfectly prepared. Abdulla Moosa gave great advice in the preparation of the trip as we wanted to add a hike before the camping and we couldn't have wished for a better guide than him sharing his passion for and knowledge about nature with the the group. He made everyone feel welcome. The experience was enjoyable from arrival, through the hike to the camping with a setup suitable for a queen. Food for diner and breakfast was delicious, the stargazing super interesting and entertaining thanks to Nirmal who also guided our very informative walk in the morning to see the fossils. Absolutely recommendable and just one hour drive away from Dubai.

Mleiha is Full of Surprises

Had an amazing time with the family visiting the Visitor Center, horse stables and best part of all, the overnight camping! There was also a star gazing session organised and really excited to have seen closer planets like Mars, Saturn and Jupiter as well as distant galaxies! Well organised and amazing staff. Massive shout out to Prabhu Kutti who, because of his passion and in depth knowledge, made us decide to come back for the overnight camping! Thank you and keep up the amazing work in sharing the vast body of history that the UAE has! Tents were well equipped (even has well maintained onsite toilet/shower facilities), had a BBQ dinner, stargazing experience and private bonfire. Woke up at 5.30am to head out to catch the sunrise, then a little bit of trekking to check out ancient fossils at Fossil Rock, and finally a bit of off-road experience before going back to camp for breakfast. Truly memorable experience, will definitely go back and highly recommended!

New Obsession

Literally my new favorite thing to do in Dubai. When you just want to get away from it all and do something for yourself, and only an hour away. I love the fact that you don't need to prepare anything. Just drive up, your food and accommodations are taken care of. The shower was a nice surprise, will bring a towel next time! Prabu was my favorite part of the stay - he is SO knowledgable, patient and kind. Learning about and seeing the stars, galaxies and planets was such a humbling experience. I didn't want it to end, I could've looked out of that telescope all night. An early start to watch the sunrise and do some dune bashing, couldn't have asked for more! And so affordable! Will definitely be back again and will definitely take guests when they're visiting!

One of my favorite things to do in the UAE!

This is my second time going to Mleiha for an overnight camping stay and I will continue to come back! 1 hour drive from Dubai and you are a whole other world... The museum tour is a great way to start the experience before heading out to the campsite, where everything is set up for you - majelis, dining, tents, torches...They take such good care of you! Really loved the night astronomy / stargazing activity with Prabhu. He is extremely knowledgeable and a talented astrophotographer so make sure you don't miss that experience! Woke up super early (5:25am) to catch the sunrise over the mountains and then went to check out some 7 million year old fossils nearby followed by a bit of dune bashing. Breakfast was waiting when we got back to the site, just in time to miss the Sunday morning rush hour heading back to Dubai. Overall, best AED 350 I've ever spent on an experience in the UAE! Only thing I caution is on weekends, you may experience some noise coming from late night quad bikers so bring ear plugs just in case!

Best Unforgetable Experience in UAE

This camping trip was awesome for people that normally don’t camp! They picked us up at hotel on time and first stop was the Mleiha Archaeological Centre. Since it was mid-week (most people visit on weekend) we were allowed all the time we needed to visit all the wonderful displays. On our way to the camp we saw camels. The camp was awesome with covered and uncovered seating areas. Tiki lights were well placed to find your way around; with coffee, tea and other non-alcoholic beverages available as we waited for dinner. They had a bonfire going the whole evening which was a special touch. Dinner call came and we found the table full with BBQ beef and chicken and all the trimmings. We are big eaters and hardly made a dent in all the food served, plus a very tasty cooked dessert to top it off. We spent the evening sitting around the bonfire and walking into the darkness taking night pictures, the silhouette of mountains was just beautiful to take in. The well-lit restrooms were located were in brand new condition, two toilets and showers for each men and women. Unfortunately, a rain storm was blowing in for the weekend so the telescope star viewing didn't happen. Then off to bed in a pup tent with a very clean air mattress and sleeping bag. Sleeping was comfortable, listening to the wind blow off and on through evening, which added to the desert experience. Morning call came to view the sunrise. They drove us over to a desert area where we could also see a Bedouin village in the distance. The clouds were an issue but still the rising sun was an awesome sight, then we visited Fossil Rock. Now back at camp, they prepared a breakfast of scrambled eggs, hot dog wieners, fresh fruit, bread, coffee, and tea. They took care of all details providing us to step from hotel into desert then back to hotel with no effort. This was a wonderful night in the desert which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you all for providing this great experience.

Incredibly beautiful setting combined with an amazing science lesson

My family did the camping excursion recently and were so happy with the whole experience. From the tents located in such a beautiful setting near the majestic sand dunes set right next to the mountains to the schedule of interesting and exciting events, we loved every minute of it. T.K., the guide who helped us with the star gazing and led our morning hike shared his depth of knowledge with us in an interesting and fun way for our two young children, and everyone alike. The whole experience was special but it was T.K. who really made it unforgettable. He is a park ranger and experienced biologist and shared his love of UAE nature and history along with science in general. We would recommend this overnight experience to anyone and would love to do it again.

Fabulous

Amazing desert experience, helpful staff and great atmosphere. The space, the facilities and the views were great. The activity includes a lot of educational information about the stars and the desert provided by Mleiha team. Very clean facilities with toilets, soap, water, sleeping bags and inflatable mattresses are provided. Can’t wait to go again very soon.

Wonderful experience

Overnight camping and stargazing

Excellent trip and a great experience. Well organized and very complete. Very suitable for kids, ours of 9 and 7, they loved it. Our guide mr. Andiappan very well prepared and lots of knowledge about both astronomy, desert wildlife and fossils.

Overnight Camping & the kids love it

It takes a lot of preparation when you travel with young children (3y, 8y). Not until I had the overnight Camping experience with Mleiha Archaeological Center. I felt care free and the kids were running and jumping all over the camping area. The staff were friendly and spreading the joy with each activity in our list. It was January 3rd and the moon was in its first quarter. Temperature was 20C at night with cool breeze. Please bring your marshmallow and get your devices fully charged. The sunrise was amazing and the fossil rock has a lot of history to discover. Toilets are around the corner, they serve dinner around 07:30 PM and you also get breakfast after sunrise all inclusive. Great start for 2020 ! Thanks.

Amazing Camping Experience

It was one of the amazing one night trip in the desert. The location for stargazing is perfect, the place is so organized and the staff are soo friendly.. All you need to get with you is your personal toiletries, games to have fun at night and marshmallow to grill.

Great family trip

We spend a night camping with our young children and my parents. Everything was organized really well and they did everything to make our stay special. The food was amazing! The camp actually looks much nicer than on the photo. The stargazing and morning ride & hike gives it a unique touch. Would definitely recommend coming here!

Exciting Journey like no other in the UAE

We recently spent an overnight at Mleiha Archeological site that started at 7 pm and ended around 7h30 am the next day! After a tour of the museum, we went to the campsite where we had a nice BBQ dinner under the stars and we were able to spot Jupiter and Mercury and took some super shots of the full moon! Abdullah was super helpful and insightful on stargazing! Lights were off around 10h30 pm and I personally had a blast taking long exposure shots highlighting the beauty of Mleiha! Weather was Okay-ish considering that we are in August. Eventhough we were provided with fans, sleeping inside the tent in the heat was tough! I can't wait for winter to go there again! In the morning we were accompanied by Abdullah to see the sunrise and an informative field trip about Mleiha s nature! At the end we had breakfast back on campsite!
